My favorite rock records

At the age of 14 I started playing the electric guitar. Mainly, I wanted to play all my favorite rock songs which I was constantly listening to.

So yeah, rock is my main genre. I´m in love with distorted guitars.

For this reason I created a list of my favorite rock records. I enjoy having an overview of the records which have influenced me most and which I´m able to play on the guitar.

Important to know: The rule was to only pick one record for each band I admire. This means that for each band listed here I admire several records. However, I aspired to pick the record which has influenced me the most. The two exceptions I allowed are for the Australian band The Vines and for the German band Sportfreunde Stiller as the songs from both records have exactly the same weight for me. I always listened to those in combination. Therefore, in a certain way I determine these two records as a double record for both bands. Additionally, I left out Dire Straits and Oasis as there was not a specific record which has influenced me but rather the style itself.

The list is in alphabetical order related to the band´s names. In addition, the list contains the bands from all rock sub genres, e. g. punk, metal, hardcore, indie, alternative and ska.

All of the records listed below are 10 from 10. They´re my musical background related to rock music. They´re an outstanding contribution to rock music and an inherent part and expression of the way how I think and feel.
